On Monday

13th

-          Tisbury Footpath Maintenance Team meet at 9:30am to improve footpaths in and around Tisbury. You don’t have to be a member of the Footpath Club to join in. If you want to take part, contact Roger Walker on 07891 442664.

 

On Tuesday the 14th

On Wednesday the 15th

-          Tisbury Gardening Club have a summer evening Garden Party at 6:30pm in a member’s garden. The gardening club are also gearing up for their Annual Open Show at the Nadder Centre on 22nd August, open to all, the schedule will be available in the Post Office and Nadder Centre soon.

 

On Thursday the 16th

Then on Friday the 17th

-          The History Society have a visit to Great Chalfield Manor and Garden at 2:15pm

-          The Family Friday session at the Methodist Church will be an end of term party from 3:30-5pm, for children and parents to enjoy crafts, games and a shared dinner.

 

On Saturday the 18th

 

-          The monthly Communitea Cafe breakfast will run from 9:30am-12pm at the Methodist Church, this is a family friendly space to chat to neighbours and enjoy a pastry, while the children play.

-          There will be a Secret Postcard Sale from 10am-5pm at Messums West, raising funds for Wardour Primary School, with a preview on Friday 17th 5-9pm. At the Secret Postcard Sale, you can buy an original artwork by a celebrated artist or celebrity for just £50, but every artwork is displayed anonymously, with signatures hidden on the reverse until after purchase.

-          Also on Saturday, the first Badges Fete will be held at East Farm in Fovant from 12-4pm. With a dog show, tug of war, raffle, climbing wall, carousel, archery, unicorn rides, face painting, live music, food and drink. Raising money for local village amenities including Fovant Playground.

 

On Sunday the 19th

-          Chalke Valley Tennis Club have an open morning from 9am-noon. Anyone of any age and any ability is welcome, with lots of fun tennis activities, games, prizes and refreshments. Let Rory know if you are planning on attending to ensure enough refreshments are available: info@farsports.co.uk The Tennis Club are also one of the sites offering Multi Sports Camps for children over the summer.

-          And Fonthill Cricket Club will be playing Mere at home at 2pm.

 

Looking ahead

-          For the Jumble Trail on Saturday 25th July 10am-1pm, contact Sarah on 07732 011176 by Friday 17th July to have your address included on the map, which you can pick up from High Street shops.

-          The Boot Inn have a Beer Fest on the weekend of 31st July-2nd August from 12pm-11pm each day, with beer, BBQ and live music in the garden.

-          The Tempest will be performed at the Commandery in Ansty from 4th-8th August. It starts at 7:30pm although the grounds are available from 6pm for picnics, with a bar selling beer, wine and soft drinks. Tickets are £15, please book online: https://www.tisburyartsgroup.co.uk/what-s-on

-          There are lots of children’s summer holidays activities running locally including...

o   Young Nature Watch’s river dipping on 25th July 10am-12pm, and Tisbury Natural History Society’s hedgehog monitoring from 25th July to 24th August

o   All of the Nadder Centre’s children activities continue, including Monday mornings 10am-1:30pm with ride-on cars, bouncy castle and soft play extended up to 8 years old. o   At Tisbury library on 4th August 10am-12pm there will be a building activity, plus similar events in Salisbury Library in August, alongside the ongoing summer reading challenge ‘Read to the Beat’ which you can complete with both the library and Fox & King bookshop

o   The Methodist Church’s TisTots and Rhymetime finish on 21st and 22nd July until September, but they will hold Play in the Park sessions in King George’s Field on Wednesday 5th, 12th and 19th August 10-11:30am, with sports equipment, crafts, toys and singing

o   Flexy dance have a 2-day workshop for budding pop and rock stars on 26th and 27th August from 10:30am-3:30pm at the Nadder Centre, for ages 4-11, no experience needed. Cost is £80, email Lexy to book: dancewithlex24@gmail.com
