W/C 16th October 2023 TisTalk – What’s on
On Tuesday, HUNTER GATHERING is putting on a fun packed event in the Hinton Hall, with talks on both ‘whether we are on the right track with climate and energy’ and ‘lost technology of the 20th century’. Also on offer is a taster healing session, a demonstration on how to make Spiced Apple Kvass, light refreshments and a raffle. Doors open at 5:30 for a 6pm start. Tickets are £10 and bookings can be made with Bel on 07501 784473.
On Wednesday, TISBURY MEMORY GROUP will be exploring memory boxes and sensory activities in the Hinton Hall, from 10-12. This Group has something on every Wednesday during October and is looking for volunteers.
And the FITNESS AND FRIENDSHIP CLUB are meeting for their regular catch up in Nadder Close Sheltered Housing, from 2-4pm.
In the evening TISBURY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY is hosting a talk by Mark Hinsley on ‘Trees in Gardens’. This is in the Methodist Hall and starts at 7:30 and non-members are welcome.
Also, on Wednesday and through to Friday, the SECOND-HAND CLOTHES POP-UP SHOP (opposite Not Just Backs) is open again from 9:30am to 4pm.
On Thursday, AFTERNOON AT THE PICTURES, is showing Allelujar, starring many recognisable faces including Jennifer Saunders, Derek Jacobi and Judy Dench. This is at the Victoria Hall at 2pm with doors opening at 1:30. Tickets are £5.
On Saturday, TISBURY FOOTPATH CLUB have their 6-mile circular walk, starting from Crockerton Firs, heading out to Norrington and returning via the Drove. For anyone not wanting to go quite so far there is a 4-mile self-guided short-cut. To book your place on this walk text Tim Martin on 07771 940565. The walkers will be gathering at 9:10 for a 9:30 start.
Also starting at 9:30am is the TISBURY METHODIST CHURCH COMMUNITEA CAFÉ BREAKFAST. This is a space to meet, chat, play and unload.
And the COUNTRY MARKET in the Victoria Hall, from 10 to 11am, will be in action again with its usual seasonal produce, organic bread, cakes, savoury goods, eggs, preserves, plants and crafts.
On Sunday evening, HANDEL CONCERT with the Cherubim Chamber choir, soloist and orchestra at Wardour Chapel at 6pm. Tickets are £18 for an adult with children free. Tickets on the door cannot be guaranteed so do buy in advance by emailing: cherubimtrust.org/tks
