| Monday 5 | · Sounds batty but there’s a talk about bats and The South Wiltshire Greater Horseshoe Bat Project at the Tisbury Parish Council reading room (the old library on the high street) on Monday at 6.00pm by bat expert Gareth Harris. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served! · Scaffolding goes up the week in preparation for the start of The East Window stained glass community project at St John’s Church. Caroline is editor of Fonthill Recovered, A Cultural History. Tickets £10 (includes glass of wine) to raise funds for roof repairs to Holy Trinity Church. | Friday 999 | · Local screenwriter and director Simon Davison’s new 90-minute film The Hunting of the Snark will have its first screening this Friday at The New Vic@Tisbury. This latest work follows on from Simon’s brilliant satire 5 Greedy Bankers, filmed locally. So tell us about your latest film Hunting of the Snark. Doors open 7pm. Film starts at 7.30pm. Not many tickets left so check on TisTalk FB page for info. · Messums has an exhibition this month on the work of young Irish still life and landscape painter Hannah Mooney (b.1995). Tisbury Memory Group is open to everyone. · Lots happening at the New Vic@Tisbury on Sunday starting at 2pm with the Royal Ballet’s fabulous and very Christmassy production of The Nutcracker streamed live from The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. On Sunday evening at the New Vic@Tisbury, The Magic Lantern Film Club is screening Breathe, the incredible and inspiring true story of Robin Cavendish who caught polio in his late 20s leaving him severely paralysed. Robin’s son, Jonathan Cavendish, the creator and one of the producers of the film will be at the screening to discuss the film.
